Description
In order to develop a definitive account of the American way of eating, author Michael Pollan follows each of the food chains that sustain us -- industrial food, organic or alternative food, and the food we forage ourselves -- from the source to the final meal. Humans, as omnivores, can eat just about anything Nature has to offer; how then should we eat, and what are the considerations that inform that question, from pleasure, to ecological ethics, nutrition, to social dictates.
