Description
It is 1947, Hawaii, where photographer and war correspondent Janey Everett is researching the life of former aviation pioneer Sam Mallory, who disappeared during the Spanish Civil War. Janey's sleuthing leads her to Irene Lindquist, who she believes might be Mallory's onetime student and flying partner, who disappeared in 1937. When the wreck of Mallory's plane is discovered in a Spanish desert, Lindquist begins to recount her story, which has many surprising twists and complications, some of which force Janey to consider her own turbulent past.
